Let the breadth of the rectrangle be x cm then length  =  x   +   60% of x  =  x   +  0.6x  =  1.6x cm
Given difference between length and breadth is 24 cm
hence 1.6x  -  x  =  24
 $\Rightarrow$  x  =  40 cm
length  =   $1.6 \times 40$   =  64 cm
Area  =   $l e n g t h \times b r e a t h$ 
 $64 \times 40$   =  2560 s.cm.
